Birthday

I shared my birthday with the King of Norway (74) and Mia's school (50).

Fabulous cake and lots of fantastic presents.  Big thank you to everyone.

Art club

So Jarle joined the art club at work some time ago and then forgot all about it.  We were told that we were on the list of lucky winners who would get to choose a piece of art this year, yippee.  We examined the catalog and put the pictures in order of preference.  Jarle's name was called about half way through and amazingly our number one choice was still available!  Here it is.  It is called Badegjester or bathing guests.  Not quite decided where to put it yet.

So then we visited our cabin (first time since Halloween) and everything was fine.  Pretty cold but soon warmed up.  Too much ice on the road to be able to take the car all the way to the cabin.  The fjord was iced over about half way across, the boat harbour completely iced over......

Beautiful weather at Lindesnes, the southern most tip of Norway.  Usually the windiest place to be.

Trip to the mountains

Here I am thigh deep in snow after visiting (and crawling through) Ben and Mia's snow cave.

We took a quick trip to the mountains a couple of weekends ago.  Shorter than planned because bad weather was forecast so we came home Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday.  Just as well and there were avalanches and the roads were closed forcing many people to stay in their cabins until Monday night.
