17. mai / 17th May

The rain stopped!  Phew!!
Ben and Mia marched with their classes in the National Day parade.  Hot dogs, ice cream and fizzy juice.  Oh and more cake.....

Ben's Birthday

Ben was 15 on Sunday, hipp hurray!

At the cabin

We had a lovely few days at the cabin from Wednesday evening to Sunday morning.  The weather was summer like (Norwegian summer you understand) until Sunday so we enjoyed eating outside and getting lots of fresh air.  Ticks are out in force already, poor Zizou.  And poor me who has to remove them.....yuk

Zap Mama and a hung parliament

Last night Jarle and I went to a concert at the May Jazz festival.  The group was "Zap Mama", an eclectic mix of pop, R&B, jazz and soul.  The singer is from Zaire and Belgium and the music was a bit African and a bit European.  It was very very good.  Started after 10 though so was a late night.........

This morning I've been watching sky news to see the results of the election.  Nobody seems to know what is going on!  A hung parliament then.

Månefossen / The Moon Waterfall

Lovely day today, about 9 degrees and sunshine.  We drove to Månefossen which we haven't visited since before Mia was born!  It is a very steep half hour climb to see the waterfall.  Cute lambs in the fields on the way.  We stopped at the candle factory too for a giant pancake with jam.
