Spring in the air...

Yesterday we went shopping for garden furniture.  We chose a sofa set similar to the one we have at the flat but a darker colour.  It looks lovely in the garden.  We also bought some flowers for pots, see picture.

When out walking Zizou this afternoon I noticed a definite difference around the neighbourhood.  People have pots of flowers on their terraces and trampolines are reappearing.  I was even somewhat surprised to hear and then see chickens in someone's garden!  People are out and about, things are starting to grow at last.

Weird flowers

Apparently the weird flowers are Zantedeschia aethiopica a member of the Araceae family.  Thanks Kevin!

Weekend at the cabin

We drove down to the cabin on Friday evening and stayed until Sunday afternoon.  The weather was okayish, some sun and some rain.  The cabin was warm when we arrived and everything is in order.  Zizou had a fab time dashing about like a rabbit.  Quite a relaxing weekend actually.  No photos taken so here is an old one of the cabin.

Hair

Just got my hair cut and coloured.  What a price!  Can hardly believe that it is cheaper to get your hair done in Paris the fashion capital of the world than here in Stavanger at the local little salon.  Well, well, it is better than going around with a stripe of grey roots showing.

Bye the way, what are these weird flowers?  Anyone know?

Frogs

Sunday the weather was beautiful so we all drove to Arboret for a stroll in the sunshine.  Seems like the frogs have just woken from hibernation.  Never seen so many frogs in my life!!!!!

Oslo

Jarle and I spent a couple of days in Oslo.  We attended a concert and dinner hosted by Jarle's work.  The concert was very entertaining, all Norwegian artists playing classical music from Edvard Greig to Andrew Lloyd Webber!  The venue was lovely, an old wooden chapel near to the Hollmenkollen hotel where we stayed high up on the hill overlooking Oslo.  The new ski jump is nearly finished!

The sun shone and we even enjoyed lunch and coffee outside.

Never mind, we still have lots of chocolate to eat!!!

Beautiful sunshine

Windy and sunny weather today in Antibes.  We spent most of the morning on the terrace enjoying the sunshine then took sandwiches to the beach for lunch.  Zizou went to the vet today to get a worm tablet that he HAD to have before he will be allowed back into Norway (they are very strict, not like the French who didn't blink an eye when we came in with him)!
